2015 Audio-Visual Media at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne

Julius Schmiedel is an artist exploring how light and color change perception of space. Most of his works deal with the human perception, using light, projection and holography. He has also been developing works to deploy in public spaces. Installations involve re-appropriating electronic products, as well as designing and building lights and circuitry.

His work has been displayed at MIT (Cambridge, USA), Center for holographic Art (New York), at Kai10 (Düsseldorf), at Badischer Kunstverein (Karlsruhe) and the Hyogo Prefectural Museum (Kobe, Japan). In 2014 he was amongst the nominees for the International Light Art Award. 2015 he graduated in Audio-Visual Media at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne.
